4 Travel Day Tips

I think we all have stories of our travel days, the good, the bad, and the ugly. There are four simple things I always do so I can enjoy the good travel days.

  1. Hydrate – Have you ever noticed once you arrive at the airport you feel dehydrated even in your skin? I make sure to increase my water intake the day before I travel and the day of travel. Some say this even helps jet lag. I always bring my hydro flask to fill up at the airport and I always say “yes” when the flight attendant comes down the aisle with water.
  2. Do a Double Check – When you are in the car, your suitcases are loaded and you are about to leave the driveway for the airport,  double check that you have your passport or driver’s license (depending where you’re going). You can forget things, but not these items! I live an hour from the airport, so if we forget these documents there is not enough time to turn back and get them.
  3. Snacks – No one likes to be hangry and those who are traveling with you do not want that either. You also never know if you will get stuck in a line and not have time to buy snacks or what the flight attendants are serving. Fill a gallon size baggie not only with fun snacks, but healthy ones too.
  4. Arrive Early – Allow plenty of time. Rushing is not fun, in fact it’s stressful.  It’s better to sit at the gate for a few extra minutes than to feel rushed or be late.  You also never know how long the lines for check in and security will take, this is so unpredictable. If you are traveling with kids or a group this is all the more important. Planes do not like waiting for people.

It has been fun helping more people travel again. Travel is returning slowly but surely. I hope you find these tips useful for your next vacation. Enjoy!
