Remember at the end of May we were excited for summer vacation! Summer means late nights, sleeping in, no schedules and relaxation at the lake. I find it interesting that now the end of August we start to long for having our routine back. In away our seasons are fun and refreshing.
I want to share with you a few of my favorite tips to jump back in to routine a bit faster and to be effective while the kids are at school.
- Freezer Meal Prep– I always plan a day to make about 20 freezer meals. At minimum my family will have 1 to 2 of them per week. My view on this is that if I am going to take the time to make 10 why not make 10 more! Having these last until the Christmas holiday saves me in shopping, planning, and prepping. I love to have freezer meal ready because having teen kids with different schedules makes it easier for everyone. My top favorites to prep is Turkey Chili, Taco Meat, Chicken Fajitas, and Turkey Burgers!
- Miracle Morning- If you have never read this book I highly recommend it. Starting your day right will make a difference in your days. You can find this book on Amazon! It talks about getting up early to have quiet time, reading, journaling, visualization, working out and so much more!
- Start a NEW Workout Plan- After all the summer fun you may find that it is time to schedule in those workouts and maybe even try a new program. This can give you a new excitement to your workouts.
- Goals- This is the perfect time to look over your 2017 goals. See if you are on track or need to kick it down. Trust me doing this will give you huge motivation!
For me back to school is bitter sweet. I love what the summer brings for our family time. The start of the school year just reminds me how old my kids are getting(I want to freeze time). I also know a Minnesota winter will be here before you know it! I would love to hear from you and how your Journey is going, email me at nichole@nicholewinter.com
