There were a few weeks in 2020 where I thought the year was never going to end. Personally, 2020 had some of my highest highs and lowest lows. I remember when I was in my lows and hardest moments I knew I could not allow myself to stay in that place too long.
With being excited for the arrival of 2021, I have been reflecting on my 2021 goals and intentions. If you have been following my journey, you know goals are very important to me. I typically look at six areas of my life. This list includes: professional, personal, family/marriage/friends, financial, giving back, and where I want to travel to. I also set some intentions. My intention for 2020 was to “Grow more intentional relationships with a deeper connections”.
For 2021, I am following these six areas and my intention statements, but breaking down into an overall goal for each quarter. I’m doing this since 2020 got very messy and overwhelming for my travel business. I’m pivoting to map out 2021 quarter by quarter so I can adjust if need be. We all know there may be more curveballs thrown our way!
Have you every set goals before? Have you ever been really intentional on something you wanted to create or achieve? Maybe this is the year to focus on something you want to achieve? First start with thinking of different areas in your life. Here are the six I focus on:
Professional
Financial
Personal
Family/Marriage/Relationships
Giving Back
Travel Destinations
Here are a few steps on how you can write down actionable items to reach your goals.
- Take some notes on what it is you want to achieve.
- Write WHY you want to achieve them and how you will feel when you do.
- Break down those goals on how to achieve them (reverse engineer them).
- Make a plan with those steps and schedule in on your calendar the things you need to do.
- Revisit your goals, adjust as needed. Keep up with your new changes even if it gets hard (because it will).
You may have one goal or 10, it does not matter. Just working towards a positive change in your life is so rewarding. You will learn so much along the way, you will make yourself proud, you will feel good. Who know what else can happen. There will be bumps and challenges along the way, but those are part of the journey.
I wish you nothing but the best in 2021, however it is up to you to create your best! Go after it.
With love, Nichole
