Travel Review: Sandals Grande St. Lucian Beach & Resort

My husband and I visited St. Lucia for the first time in 2013. This location is one often requested by couples. I found it only fitting to visit the island and experience it myself.

Activities, Adventure & More

The Sandals Grand in St. Lucia is one of three Sandals properties on the island, each beautiful in their own way. It is a 90-minute drive from the airport to the resort. There is a constant view of the ocean, mountains, and the locals that accompany the commute. We even experienced driving through part of a rain forest while in transit and it was incredible!

This island is full of activities including:

  • Ziplining
  • Catamaran cruises
  • Golfing
  • A tour around the Pitons
  • Scuba diving
  • Waterskiing
  • Snorkeling
  • Botanical gardens
  • Hobie Cats, paddle boards, kayaks
  • Hiking
  • Day and night tennis
  • Unlimited land sports and state-of-the-art fitness centers
  • Day and night entertainment including live entertainment

I fell in love with the size of this resort – not too small, but not too large. It offered just the right amount of amenities for the duration of our stay. The dining was very enjoyable and everything we had was great. This resort offers dining options that are more casual. There is a Pub for lunch right on the beach. The Italian restaurant or Gordan’s Pier Resturant, a butler exclusive restaurant, is available for a more formal experience.

Pristine Amenities

We stayed a week on this property. The first five days we enjoyed a room in the Lagoon View Concierge, which offered room service, a full mini bar, balcony, and a sitting area. The last two nights we were upgraded to the Grande Rondoval Butler Suite with a private pool and whirlpool. This room was amazing and not short on any details! It has features including a private veranda with a hammock, outdoor shower, jacuzzi, and private plunge pool. It reveals stunning mountain and garden views with a flow-through living and sleeping quarters. It’s truly a little slice of heaven.

The activities included in our stay were: kayaking, Hobie cat sailing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, diving, water skiing, and a glass bottom boat tour. There is certainly enough of a variety of activities to keep you busy every day doing and trying new things. This trip is where I discovered paddle boarding, which is something I still enjoy to this day and absolutely love!

I will be back one day to visit this island as it really made an impression. When I think of my clients visiting this island, it is great for so many different interests. There are adventures for the outdoor lover, beautiful beaches and lounging if you’re looking to relax, and a breath-taking landscape for a honeymoon or destination wedding. I am excited to help you plan a vacation to St. Lucia!
